Muhammad Ali Awan took his master’s degree in Cultural and Social Anthropology at the Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad, Pakistan, submitting a fieldwork-based thesis on “Different Forms of Livelihood in the Rural Areas of Pakistan (A Case Study of District Attock).” His current research project is a study of human rights and transsexualism in Pakistan.
